We Work with You

Our clients can easily access our services in clinic, in their home or even at school. Including equipment prescription, home modifications, goal setting and planning, accessibility, environmental assessments or through one-on-one supports.

We are qualified to conduct functional assessments and provide recommendations and reports where needed to support future NDIS plans.

We Work as a Team

For us to provide the best quality care and support to the people that we work with, it is vital that we work collaboratively and holistically with the person and their support crew. We encourage and facilitate an open line of communication with families, health professionals and other organisations to ensure that we are all working with each other to meet the client’s goals.

We also offer a wide range of education, training and professional development options for health professionals, disability support workers, families and carers.

Home Equipment Recycling Program

Our Home Equipment Recycling Program has evolved to rehome preloved assistive equipment to new homes for people in need.

Over the years many of our generous clients have wanted to donate unwanted or preloved equipment they no longer need or use. We are only too aware of the amount of people in our community who may not have the financial means or government funding to access the necessary equipment they need following an injury, hospital admission, diagnosis or just because their health, safety or independence has declined.

We know, firsthand, how important it is to have the right equipment to be able to remain safe and independent at home and in the community.

Here at Apricus Health we are passionate about helping our environment and know how important it is to do our bit. Through this program we have helped reduce the stress on the environment by recycling used health equipment and preventing it from going to landfill whilst helping people access much-needed equipment at no charge.

We are also committed to supporting our local Townsville community and we are proud to offer this free service to anyone in need. We will store unwanted equipment until someone needs it. Every piece of equipment is checked by an occupational therapist to ensure that there are no obvious signs of wear and tear.

We are unable to take responsibility for the equipment, for the way that it is used and or any injuries resulting from usage. We recommend that any equipment is used under the guidance or recommendation from a treating health professional and a service is performed to ensure equipment is in best working order.

If you have equipment you would like to donate or you are looking for a piece of equipment for yourself or a loved send us an email.

Do I Need a Referral?

If you are an NDIS participant, then we can work with you under your current funding plan. If you are self-managed, you can contact us directly to make an appointment.

If you are working with a support co-ordinator then you can ask them to contact us directly to work out the best way for us to work with you.

You don’t have to be funded under the NDIS to see an occupational therapist. We can work with you as a private client. If you have private health insurance, and depending on your type of cover, then there may be a rebate that you can claim through your insurer. Please check with your individual health fund for specific details about what your fund offers.
