Experienced Hand Therapist – Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist

Apricus Health is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to provide hand therapy services from our Ingham clinic.

This opportunity may suit someone wanting to complement an existing position, return to clinical work gradually or establish a regular day of specialist practice within the Ingham community.

You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own local caseload while remaining connected to Apricus Health’s established Hand Therapy team in Townsville.

Although you’ll work independently from our Ingham clinic, you won’t be practising in isolation.

You’ll be connected to an established Hand Therapy team led by a Certified Hand Therapist and work alongside experienced AHTA-accredited hand therapists. Our team shares knowledge, discusses complex cases and supports one another across locations.

You’ll have access to remote clinical support and mentoring while retaining the autonomy to manage your caseload and build strong local relationships.

We offer casual or part-time arrangements, ideally with availability for at least one regular clinical day each week.

We understand this position may sit alongside another role or other commitments. We’ll work with the successful applicant to establish an arrangement that supports their needs, our clients and the Ingham community.

Meaningful and varied clinical work

You’ll manage a diverse hand and upper limb caseload, which may include:

• Fracture management

• Pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation

• Sports and workplace injuries

• Nerve conditions and degenerative disorders

• Chronic conditions such as arthritis and cumulative trauma

• Open trauma, wound, scar and burns management

• Neurological upper limb rehabilitation

You’ll also build strong relationships within the local community and work closely with surgeons, GPs and other allied health professionals to provide coordinated, high-quality care.

About you

This position requires a clinician who is comfortable working with a high level of independence while remaining connected to and supported by the broader team.

You will:

• Be a qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with current general AHPRA registration

• Have clinical experience in hand therapy

• Be confident managing a varied hand and upper limb caseload autonomously

• Care about providing high-quality, client-centred care

• Build strong relationships with clients, referrers and the local community

• Value clinical excellence, collaboration and continued learning

• Hold, or be willing to obtain, current First Aid and CPR certification and an NDIS Worker Screening clearance

• Hold a current driver’s licence
